This DVD is intended as a celebration of the craft of Calligraphy, with demon-
strations of six of the most common letter forms. The videos were made with
the camera positioned directly over the writing, a position which gives the
clearest possible impression of the viewer actually doing the lettering. Hand
position and stroke sequence are clearly seen and the paper is lined to show
the slope discipline required in each case. Calligraphy is a visual craft and
there is no substitute to seeing the lettering produced, stroke by stroke.
Each of the six alphabets is written out in full - capitals and lower
case, followed by a text example in each style. Please note that
the videos on this DVD are different from those on
display elswhere on this site.
